David Bancroft became the Executive Chef of Amsterdam Café in May of 2006. While attending Auburn University’s School of Business in ‘05, he began his culinary career as the restaurant’s sous chef.  During his tenure as the chef, he has been recognized for his vigorous commitment to using local and seasonal ingredients. Bancroft is an avid supporter of the SlowFoods® movement and his menu has been recognized by the nations “Buy Fresh Buy Local” campaign for the abundance of locally sourced ingredients. His cuisine is eccentric, inspired, and straightforward. His culinary passion, along with the quaint atmosphere of Amsterdam Café, re-defines the principles of Southern Hospitality!
